About Surah Al-Waqiah
Surah Al-Waqiah (The Inevitable Event) is the 56th Surah of the Holy Quran, with 96 Ayahs, revealed in Makkah. It is one of the most frequently recited Surahs in the Muslim world, especially in the evenings. Ibn Masud (ra) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Surah Al-Waqiah every night, poverty will never afflict him."
The Surah vividly describes the events of the Day of Resurrection and the three groups of people: the Forerunners (as-Sabiqun), the Companions of the Right (Ashab al-Yamin), and the Companions of the Left (Ashab ash-Shimal). It paints a detailed picture of Paradise and the punishment of the wrongdoers.
